Your schedule should
include 4 items: Question: I am a new member and have been running a marathon each month. Do I send in my time to the club or notify ahead of time to the chub which marathon I am running in? Not sure exactly how all of this is handled. I would like to meet some members at the marathons that I go to but do not know how to start. Answer: As soon as you have marathons planned, members can send in their schedules to steveboone@aol.com and we'll post your name on the schedule page on the club website. You can also let us know if you have any milestones coming up. As often as you like, you can update your marathon total count. The best way to meet members at the races is to wear your 50 States Marathon Club shirt and look for others wearing theirs at the packet pick-up, pasta party, and during the race. Walk up to any other member and introduce yourself. If you'd like to plan to meet someone ahead of time, check out the schedule page and find other members who will be there. You can find their email addresses on the Members page on the club website. Email a few and ask if you can meet up with them at the pasta party or at packet pick-up. Many members have sent in requests for roommates, ride shares, etc. and we post them on the website. Question: I'm looking for an easy way to start to schedule the remaining states without overlapping or duplicating a state. Is there a list that has the races listed by state instead of dates? Answer: The best site we've found is www.marathonguide.com . They have 2 different features that might be able to help you. One under the "Calendars" dropdown menu is "Marathon Map". It shows a US map that has dots where all the different marathons are. You can choose the dates you're looking for races. The other option is also under the "Calendars" dropdown and is called "Race Search". If you click on it (and not the Race Quick Search) then you can put in any state and it will list all the races available in that state. Here are some other sites that have some searches. They are not as comprehensive as marathonguide, but they can be helpful. www.coolrunning.com also has a search by state, but it includes all races, not just marathons. www.usmultisport.com has a search by regions. www.runningintheusa.com has a search by states.
